Applied Systems Marketing is a small business
representing commercial food service manufacturers in DC, Maryland, and
Virginia.
Jim
Day founded Applied Systems Marketing in 2002 with more than 20 years of
experience in the food service and restaurant equipment industry. In addition
to the representing side, Jim has extensive experience in the consulting side
of commercial food service, giving him the creative background necessary to
look beyond the equipment and consider the entire scope of a project.
Jim
happily welcomed his son, Graham Day, a graduate from St. Mary’s College of
Maryland, as an associate in 2007.
As
a family-run business, ASM is dedicated to building strong, lasting
relationships with both their customers and manufacturers through superior
customer service, high-quality products, and the expertise for efficient and
valuable implementation.
Jim Day, Founder & President
Jim Day earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the
University of Texas at Austin and a Masters Degree in Public Health from the
University of Texas, School of Public Health in Houston. Jim’s
experience in the food service equipment industry began in 1981 and includes
five years with Lebow Equipment Company, eighteen years as a manufacturer’s
representative in the Mid-Atlantic territory, and four years as a partner at
Next Step Design, a leading consultant group out of Annapolis.
His solid relationships and excellent reputation among dealers
and consultants is the foundation upon which Applied Systems Marketing is
built. Additionally, Jim’s commitment to customer satisfaction and technical
expertise has grown the business to include 13 manufacturers since ASM’s
creation in 2002.
Jim is married to Karen Nathan Day and has two children, Graham and Lauren and
lives in Waldorf, Md.
Graham
Day, Associate
Graham obtained a Bachelors Degree in Human Studies
from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 2007. That same year, Graham joined the
ASM team with back- and front-of-the-house restaurant experience.
Through working hands-on with chefs and end-users,
Graham has gained the understanding and experience necessary to help integrate
the purchased equipment into the customers’ every-day operations. As an addition
to the ASM team, Graham has helped develop the business’ capabilities while
expanding the customer base.
Graham and his new wife, Arianna, live in La Plata, Maryland.
